Success at the Scottish Homes Awards

Almost 700 people from Scotlands Housing and home-building sector gathered in Glasgow on June 13th for the prestigious Scottish Homes Awards.

Orkney Housing Association picked up one of the very top awards and were named “Scottish Housing Association of the Year”

The Association’s Chief Executive, Craig Spence said it was tremendous news and testament to the hard work of every member of staff at OHAL. “To be recognised by leaders in the housing sector as the top Housing Association in the country is quite something. I am very proud of the whole team and all their fantastic work.”

The judging panel considered the overall performance and impact that a Housing Association has made in the last year in deciding the winner. The panel commended OHAL’s “responsive approach to social housing, investment in their people and delivery of great customer service and contribution to the local community and society on the islands.”
The Association were represented at the awards by Committee member John Stockan, Modern Apprentice, Aimee Leask and Director of Finance & Asset Management, Anne Fletcher (all pictured).
