You may remember in April of this year we consulted tenants, applicants and other interested parties on our new Rented Allocations Policy. Contained within our new policy was a change in how we allocate our new build properties. We proposed that we would allocate these properties to existing OHAL tenants in the first instance. A majority of respondents to our consultation agreed with this approach and our Management Committee then approved the changes in May this year.
Our next development in Walliwall will be completed in January 2020. To allocate these properties we will use a local lettings initiative which you can view at the link in this post. This details how we will allocate these properties to existing OHAL tenants based on their current housing need. Our plan is to advertise these properties in early November for a two week period to allow applicants to place bids. We will then contact potential new tenants in late November / early December to review their current housing circumstances and offer a new tenancy to the successful applicant. Therefore, please keep an eye out for these properties being advertised in the near future.
